Welcome.
Hello! And thank you for visiting. My name is Katie, and Iβm a wildlife photographer based in the bonny Highlands of Scotland.
I am deeply passionate about nature and the wonder it exudes. I find true joy in spending time with wildlife, whether itβs quietly observing or patiently waiting for the perfect shot. My passion lies in capturing wildlife through close-up portraiture, showcasing the beauty and personality of animals in their natural environment.
My photographic journey started when I was a mere 9 years old, using an old family Canon SLR to capture anything that caught my attention. The curiosity of how a camera worked and what I could create grew and grew into my teenage years, where I found portraiture and was greatly inspired by the Flickr 365 days (where you take a photo everyday for a year).
When I hit my 20βs I moved to Australia, where I focused mostly on landscape photography, purely because the beaches where stunning and close by. During this time my love for photography diminished somewhat, I never stopped taking photos but for a few years I lost my motivation and didnβt pick up my camera for 3 years.
That was until 2021, when I moved to an area of Moray, in Scotland, and discovered the wonderful Red Squirrel. I quickly managed to scout out certain spots where I would regularly see the wee reds, and soon found myself out with my camera at every opportunity. My passion for photography was once again ignited and, this time, it blossomed into much more than it ever had done previously. And the rest, as they say, is history.
So welcome, I hope you find as much enjoyment from my photographs as I have done capturing them.
Katie.
